All the above answers are correct. But, you can have sex after the 7th month of pregnancy. Obviously, position wise, you will have to get creative, as your midsection will be "in the way".
I don't know why the above answer said to not have it after the 7th month. Sometimes when women go past their due date, doctors will advise them to engage in sex, as sometimes it is known to trigger the onset of labor.
But, I have two kids, and it can be a little un-nerving knowing there is a baby in there. You do worry you wil hurt the child or the mother. Take charge during the love making, and let him know everything is ok, and nothing is hurting the baby. But, if the fear will not go away, you will just have to find other ways to "please" each other.

I had to laugh at some of your responses. I'm gay, so I've been with a lot of guys over the years, and had access to the equipment myself. Guys go down at different rates. Just like some guys are "growers" some are "show-ers.". There is no rhyme or reason to that. Personally I believe the slow to deflate has a lot to do with their prostate function....more so than who they are with or their level of excitement. I've met guys who never went totally down before they were ready to go again, some stay so rigid you wouldn't even know they had finished except for the fluids, the toe curl and eye roll. Some guys simply stay engorged much longer than others after finishing. I'm one of those guys who doesn't usually deflate fast, sometimes 10 minutes or more. It never has anything to do with how satisfied I am, it just takes its time. Although slow deflation does occur more often with partners I'm very attracted to, or if it has been a couple of weeks since the last use. Fast or slow withdrawal doesn't seem to be the determining factor for deflation speed either. For myself it has more to do with how tired I am, and how long it has been between encounters. Your guy is fine. You are still "rocking his world." If you weren't, he wouldn't inflate in the first place. Enjoy it. It comes in handy for a guy to use when his partner needs a few more minutes to reach the same conclusion he has already reached.

Some men really do have a problem having sex with their pregnant wives. They feel like they could hurt you or the baby. Besides the phyical fears, they worry it's like "dirty" while you're carrying a baby, almost a violation. Maybe a reassurance from your OB could really help him. 40 weeks is a long time to not have sex, especially because after you give birth, you can't and then won't really want to for a while.

Your husbands explaination for not keeping his erection may be just the one he gave you. Sometimes men get a sort of feeling that they might "hurt" the baby if they are have sex. Yes, he may want sex and be horny, but don't disregard his explination. Look into it, there are books out there about this.
