Maharashtra should use hydal projects and wind energy projects to the maximum as it has geographical area that suits to this type of projects.
Further by making judicious use of resources, optimum use of material, they should try to reduce transmission loss and bring it to below 5% level.
Maharashtra should follow Gujarat pattern of administering the power companies with effective goverment control.

It is true that power shortage is there. As Maharastra is short of approx 5000MW now a days. Which is tedious to arrange for any government in short term basis. Such situation has aroused due to lack of proper planning and estimate by earlier governments. There was no addition in Power generation for about a decade in the state only to promote a pvt. Dhabol project which also due to lack of high cost and nonavailability of Naphtha could not run and ultimately closed down.Now this state government has taken this issue seriously and has started many new projects in the state to fulfill the increasing demand by adding many thermal power station and also starting production in closed Dhabol project through NTPC.This has also short term solution as well as long term solution of the problem. Let Malls be constructed as present state government is ready to face the shortages in future and we are hopeful that the day is very near when there will not be any load shedding in Maharastra.
