No, no, yes, yes...but I don't think Obama is going to be the one...at least in the next election cycle. He doesn't have enough experience and the Clinton machine is going to demoralize him.
Too bad Condi doesn't want to run. She'd be an ideal republican candidate.

I do think that we could handle either but I don't feel that a qualified candidate is running yet, seriously the President as less to do with policy than he/she is given credit for. I also don't believe that the South would truly care about Obama one way or another.

Are you asking if the South would go nuts if Obama were elected? Probably, but because of his political views not his race.
Personally, Southerners would have no problem having Colin Powell or Condoleeza Rice as President.

Only sheeple will vote for a black president.
I seriously hope that if Obama has more of a chance of winning the election that he is assassinated. I really don't feel like going to jail for being white..

I don't think the country is ready for either. I hate to say it, but someone would definitely try to assassinate Obama. Look what happened in Louisiana. The first black mayor that was about to swear in and he was found dead with a gun shot wound to the chest. They called it suicide, but I doubt it. Sad world we live in. I also hear alot of men put down the notion of a female president as well.

Why would the south rise against another Illionois Politician. There is not as much at stake these days then there was when Lincoln ran for office.
Besides we northerners kicked their *** the last time we can do it again.

No. Obama is his own man but he is a democrat and he may well take the South anyway. He has very broad appeal.

With so many countries in the world with women leaders, we are truly backward to be having this conversation in 2007 when we should have led the way.
