Of course, if its paid for why not take this opportunity to further your education? I'm in university now and have classes with older people (you're not that old).. some in my classes are 50-54..

You'd better believe it, it is never too late to go back to school and if your deadend job will pay all the better. It costs alot to go so that is a hugh hurdle you will leap. I was finally able to finish my BA degree several years ago and I graduated at the age of 41. I thoroughly enjoyed going to school with younger students and there were some my age too. Now I'm wondering if I am too old to go back again and earn a teaching credential, I am 44 now. I guess not, if I decide to commit to it I will go for it. I encourage you to go for a college education and your world will open up more for you.

Its never to late to learn. I worked my way through college, but didn't have kids to worry about. Still its not as much dissadvantage as you might think. The college kids are distracted by dating, partying and all that non-sense, instead you work your job and deal with the family. You'll still spend about the sam amount of time studying as the kids.

Need to plan on spending your weekends studying though. There's no time for vacations, or travel. If your working a full time job you're going to be behind every weekend and you have to get caught back up.

It isn't so much about how old you are, but the responsibilities we often acquire because of time. If you were 21 and were married and had kids. Perhaps even then it may be to late. But if your employer is offering you this opportunity. Maybe you should seriously consider it and get out of this situation you dislike and have a better life for you and the family.

Become a truck driver, seriously! Good money, and if you want to do more than just drive, like working on a dock, and/or doing city P&D (Pick-up and delievery) try LTL Trucking (Local Trucking), just check your phone book for companies like Yellow, Roadway, Con-Way, ABF, etc. etc. Good luck! :)

P.S.- As for college, yes, it's ALWAYS a good idea to get an education, but how fast do you need to start making REAL money is the question!

It is never too late.

Many people get a degree in their 30's or older. Get started now.
You will be glad you did. Otherwise, in 20 years, you will be sitting around wishing you had gone back to school.

Many people work and go to school and survive. You can do it.

Because of your family situation you should be able to get a loan from the govt. Talk to a counselor at the school you wish to attend and they should be able to help with that. You should go back to school for your family's sake. Its never too late to go back.

If you wait... it'll only get harder. And you might lose that job that is willing to pay for school. Sign up and start over the summer.

(and go to a community college for a class or two to "get your feet wet" - they tend to have a larger group of working adults - and programs to help them get started.)

Good luck!

Well if you can afford it go for it. Its never too late to go to college and it'll make you some extra bucks too, so why wait? And you're never too old to go to college, I've seen 50+ year old people at colleges before.

It's never too late to try to improve yourself and better your position in life. I say, Go For It. Because you want to be there, you'll probably do very well.
