Smoke smell from used game system?

Question

I bought a dreamcast on ebay that unfortunately came with a distasteful smell of smoke. I was wondering if keeping it outside could air it out? Problem is its like 0 degrees so i was wondering if its bad for systems in that weather. I know its bad for very hot weather but im not sure with the cold. Thanks.

no i bought it for 25 dollars on ebay
and no, a new dreamcast cost 80 dollars on ebay with shipping

and yes its a cigarette smoke odor

i think u should take it back and get your self a new one cuz that shyt should honestly not be smoking no matter what?!!! what did u pay like $200 or more???

ok, im hoping you mean smoke as in cigarette, not smoke as in burnt wires? if its cigarette, try putting it in a ziplock with some of those little baggies for moisture in shoes.. i dont know if it would work..but its worth a try... also, you probably could put it outside, even tho its so cold.. but make sure when you bring it back in- to let it warm up to room temp before you use it..

if its from hot wires?? stop using it.. last thing you need is the thing catching fire on you ;)

Keep it inside those things have laser lenses inside and the extreme cold could mess them up when you bring them inside. Use simple green to wipe down the outside and any other parts you can reach including controlers and wires. should do the trick.

thats why im buying a new dreamcast from ebay
