Ask yourself, "what does my spouse like, but never buys herself?"
a day at a spa, a massage, perfume.
If she's an earthy girl, then maybe a cd of her favorite artist, or a book, organic lotions
If she likes art, maybe a vase or a painting or fancy mirror...
Remember, "what does she like, but never indulge in."

sprouse? or spouse? if its spouse maybe something
a. he/she does not have
b. will remind them of your relationship, a fond memory etc.
c. a labor of love
d. he/she will use and appreciate for sure (work or recreational)
e. all of the above

to give something to YOUR SPOUSE*, it really depends. if you've only just been together for weeks or a month or so, a mixed cd you burned yourself or a giftcard and cute little note will do fine. Of course flowers and chocolates are cute to add to too. if you've been together long enough about 3 to 4months+ then you should already know what to get your sweetie. you've known them long enough!
