YUMA IS NASTY. I personally lived there 10 months and that's all I could stomach. Although going to Algodones Mexico was fun (a 20 minute drive), but that's about it. I found the people in that area extremely cut throat. I can say to anybody thinking to moving to Yuma or Phoenix, AZ in general, must be VERY CAREFUL, and really need to understand what they are in for. There's more to it than it being extremely dry and hot. I think there is something in the water out here because the people are really different compared to my midwest background....the schools are nasty also in Yuma, and I mean NASTY. Gangs all over the place. The kids out here DO NOT have any respect for adults or authority, and the authorities do not respect you, no matter who you are. It's not a great mix at all.

Yuma is on the California border, and near the Mexican border. It is a small(ish) town that gets very hot in the summer. It is relative clean (for a desert town) and fairly modern. Its claim to fame is that it is the early site of the Arizona Territorial Prison, and later on it was a railroad town. The original bridge across the Colorado River is still standing and is an interesting sight. You also asked about Bullhead City, Arizona, and of the two Yuma would be my choice.
