I think people should make right choices before hating someone. It is important to think about consequences before engaging in some kind of unethical activity. Know the difference between right and wrong. Because it is a person/people who will have to suffer the consequences. And feelings are emotions of what you feel at the moment. Just try not to go too far.
Otherwise, hatred may eat a person from inside, will create enemies, and you won't be able to notice that unless you are defeated. Like you said: "by the choices we make, we become who we are." So, make the right choice and don't be defeated because there is a winner in every one of us. " We are all here on earth, we are all humans" and we are not alone with our issues.
However, if you feel that you were treated unfairly and there is no justice in it and it wasn't your fault, then try to resolve that issue and prove your point. If it is not in your hands, then what can I say. We live in an unfair world. Can't fix everyone.

It is not a good habit to hate anything on the basis of his qualities. God has created everything with certain unspecified objectives not known to us. We have also been created by the same almighty. Therefore, we do not have the choice of liking or dis-liking any body on the basis of his qualities. We are taught in the childhood that we should hate the bad qualities and not the person who has been grasped by these qualities. All of us have the same type of blood, eat same type of food for our energy and share the same mother earth, then how can we hate anything in this world. May be, under some crisis situation we may need the help of such person whom we hated/are hatting for example, suppose, after some accident or mis-happening one needs blood transfusion, and a blood group of one specific type which is available with one person grasped by bad quality worth hate, will one not accept the blood for survival. If, he can not refuse to accept the blood then how can he hate the said person.
Therefore, it is not at all good to hate fellow human beings on the basis of their caste, creed, religion ,race, colour or any other character.

Hate has so many opportunities...religion, (which should be love)
nationality, race, etc. If you could resolve hate, you would be the world leader! It's funny in a strange sort of way...it takes much more energy to hate someone than to not....yet no matter how tired we are, we still find the strength to hate.

Oh yes there are things that are healthy to hate. Those things which target innocence. there is evil in the world and it relies on apathy and our own feelings of helplessness to survive and thrive. Most hates however are missplaced fears or poor perceptions on our part. A lot of people don't realize that to forgive someone is to set a prisoner free, and find that the prisoner is you. Hating gives our enemy free reign in our minds. They have power over our sleep, ruin our appitites, can consume our thoughts, our health, our happiness. How smart is this?

Hate is a powerful word. It invaribly does harm to the person who feels the hate. It is ok to dislike something or someone but to actually hate it will only eat you up inside and the person the hate is directed too is doing just fine. You will be the one who feels the brunt of the pain.

Hatred is an emotion of intense revulsion, distaste, enmity, or antipathy for a person, thing, or phenomenon, generally attributed to a desire to avoid, restrict, remove, or destroy the hated object. It can be based on fear of an object or past negative consequences of dealing with that object. Hatred is often described as the opposite of love or friendship; others, such as Elie Wiesel, consider the opposite of love to be indifference. People may feel conflicting and complicated emotions or thoughts involving hate, as in a love-hate relationship.

You're misusing the words hate, fear and love in otherworldly meanings--nearly everyone has been conditioned to get them wrong.
Love is not a mysterious nor divine emotional positive felt toward something.
Hate is not its opposite, therefore a "sin".
And fear is not a floating abstraction feeling that you need to ignore or learn to ignore.
Love is admiration, experienced strongly as a safety with, a drawing toward, the values of something that is desirable.
The opposite of love is fear, not hate.
Fear is disapproval, experienced strongly as a danger with, a
need to draw away from or to oppose the value of that is something threatening.
Hate is this strong form of disapproval, experienced as an immediate need to be aware of it. Fear is the milder or longer term form.
There are several things every man needs to hate--if they start threatening him--totalitarian government, anti-thisworldist philosophy, unethical conduct (crimes), collectivized political bureaus, postmodernist academics, extremist media moguls and Nature's worst effects, diseases, deprivation of rights, false definitions repeated by fools and popular figures, interference in one's pursuit of happiness, false definitions, etc., etc.
Anything that threatens you unarguably need to make a priority--to be aware of, oppose, mitigate the harm of, stop or act against. There is no higher priority. this is legitimate fear of something translated into a form for action--"hatred" of something that threatens you or those or what you love requires your immediate attention and your conscious opposition. It is no more a negative than is love, the immediate and strong form of admiration.

I don't think hate is a good thing. I think most people, not all, end up hating things because they have been hurt or let down in the past. If you can forgive or let go, you will find that life is much easier and enjoyable.

Why would it be good, or bad to feel any emotion? Emotions just are, examining when they come to us, will help to lead to why they have come and what caused them. If you are uncomfortable with an emotion it is a good idea to try to understand why and often just understanding what experiance you had was that causes a strong reoccurance of the feeling will help you to let that feeling go.
