I have not had problems with CD+R or CD-R. BUT I have found the with DVDs the -R disks are more compatible for playback all around.

I have never heard of either CD+R or CD-R, all I have ever seen is CDR or CD-RW.
DVD's are rated with the + and - sign, but I didn't know CDR's were.
In my Citizen stand alone (home) DVD Recorder/Player the DVD+R works the best both for playback and recording. It will not read some -R DVD's at all, and won't read any -R DVD that has been recorded on the computer burner, which is a Samsung 18X DVD Burner.
So, I guess it is just trial and error to find out what works best for you.

not something you should tell in basic terms by technique of searching at a disk...yet DVD's have a lot extra means, and also you are able to watch video clips etc on DVDs... CDs are in general for music. both can shop information like pc information and information backups on your pc

I don't think there's a huge difference between the two.
CD-RW, however is a rewritable CD that will let you erase the CD or record something new.
