After being a Long Term Single Parent (and now I'm an empty-nesting Single Retiree), I can assure you that with the adult children out of MY HOME .. that I am ENJOYING the PEACE and QUIET! What a PLEASURE to NOT have noise, swear words, 'attitude' problems or demands when I enter MY HOME that MY HARD WORK has provided for me!

It depends on the situation. If my husband and I just got into a fight then yes silence bothers me. If I'm at work trying to do my job then no it doesn't bother me.

It depends completely on the situation.
If I'm with my husband, sister, a few other close friends, we can enjoy silence.
But with some people the silence is really awkward, and I wish someone would just SAY SOMETHING!
