I don't think pillows or something that will be displayed in our home. I think the material would be too difficult to clean.

If you plan on having children you could make christening/baptismal gowns from the fabric. You could also make angel ornaments for your Christmas tree. (This is of course suggestions if you are Christian. They are just things I have seen done with dresses in the past, not an assumption on the personal beliefs of the asker.)

You could use the fabric to make sachets as gifts for the people who were an important part of your day (for flower girls or younger participants you could make a stuffed bear, rabbit or such).

I have seen where a recreation of the dress is crafted for a doll and displayed in a little girl's room . . . with the scraps made as sachets that could either be used in drawers or given as gifts at your anniversary . . . also using pieces of it to decorate the exterior of your wedding album/s -- to keep them clean just put a clear plastic cover on them . . .

I donated my wedding dress to a local non-profit organization called Newborns In Need. It was taken apart and they used the fabric to make burial garments for tiny babies. I received pictures of my dress and the tiny items that were made for these tiny babies. I really felt like I had done something really special with my dress. I keep the pictures displayed in my home.

You could make a scrapbook cover for your wedding album out of the material.

I haven't done this yet, but I plan to take my dress, my husbands wedding shirt and hopefully one of the bridesmaids dresses (I haven't asked for it, yet) and make an elegant quilt.

Then the quilt will be an heirloom passed down as our family grows.

just a thought but my grandmother, my mother, my aunt, my sister and I all wore the same dress. Have you considered starting a family tradition?
