I think they may... it's a risk...

We should vote for Rudy Giuliani, good, smart man who is qualified.

And what's the deal with people saying "I'd love to see a black guy be president"? Doesnt that show ignorance. Shouldn't it be qualifications that lead to office, not "woah, that would be cool"? It's amazing that they let people vote without taking some sort of qualyfing test first.

That would depend on *which* woman or black... as to ones most often mentioned.. I would agree with you.. but that's because of their politics... not because of their gender or race.

If you watch the movie Munich, Golda Meyer was president of Israel in 1972 when the terrorist attacks happened in the Olympics and they sent agents to kill the terrorists. The point is that women and men both have the same ability to carry out evil and good, no one has a monopoly on that.
We also live in a free democratic society that says that any one can run for office which means that at times unqualified people might hold office. As a result you have some weird candidates, the opposite would be to let only certain people run and you create a class of people who are never represented. Always remember that people with parallel thinking never meet.

What does it matter? Terrorists hate us already. You do realize many countries already have woman leaders, right? Or they have in the past. Many countries have black leaders. Are any of these places weak? Just because someones skin is a different color, or they urinate sitting down doesn't dictate intelligence. It doesn't dictate rational, emotion, passion, a strong sense of duty of what is right and wrong. It doesn't dictate strength. A upper-middle class white man doesn't necessarily either.

Frankly, as a woman, I am insulted that you think a female president would make us look weak. You need to step out of the Pre-Woman's Suffrage era, and see the world around you.

Here is a short list of women prime ministers of the 20th century.

Sirimavo Bandaranaike, Sri Lanka
Prime Minister, 1960-1965, 1970-1977, 1994-2000.
Indira Gandhi, India
Prime Minister, 1966-77, 1980-1984.
Golda Meir, Israel
Prime Minister, 1969-1974.
Isabel Peron, Argentina
President, 1974-1976
Elisabeth Domitien, Central African Republic
Prime Minister, 1975-1976
Elisabeth Domitien, Central African Republic
Prime Minister, 1975-1976
Margaret Thatcher, Great Britain
Prime Minister, 1979-1990.

And there's plenty more.

You are all going to hate me for this but I am pretty sure the answers and this question can teach us alot about the lack of international knowledge some people have. Perhaps since I am not American I recieve different propaganda, but ultimatly if you delve deeper, and I hope you do, you will find something different. Perhaps some history lessons?

You already look weak. They are after Bush. Frankly, having anyone new is going to look great for you on the international scale. When the polictics of a nation become the punchline of every joke, that is just not a good thing.

Thumbs down? I thought so.

I agree almost 100%. But a black president (or brown or red or yellow) would not be seen as weak. It is a woman that they would not like. All those countries that keep women at the bottom will see this as a weakness and attack. I don't think they will succeed, but they will try, seeing a woman in power is a major weakness to them. But I agree, presidents should be judged based on qualifications, not gender or race. But... a minority pres. would bring this country up to where it should be, because they may have a tendency to focus on our issues at home rather than "vengeance for our daddy" and keeping his family and friends rich from oil.

I, too, would help Condi over the two Hillary or Obama and have reported many situations that she would be the suited candidate to close up the politically suitable crowd...the two black and lady! As for our u . s . turning out to be extra unified decrease than a black lady president....regrettably, i do no longer see that occurring. The opposing political social gathering would have their very own time table, no remember what. i assume there would be a extra acceptable risk of team spirit if the president have been an self sufficient.

On the contrary not weakness, look at the world map? do you not see the 90 per cent of the world population are what we in American call minority? Terrorism? Do we not think that the terrorist are of Arab descent also a minority.? Do you not know that the world view of us, (speaking of the majority) is that we the white race control all in our government? I do believe that by showing the world that we are ready for a change by treating all American citizens equally and giving each of them the opportunity they deserve according to their qualifications and not their race or gender we will make a giant step in the right direction, What are we afraid of? that if we elect a so call mirority our country will be poor, because we will share our wealth with other minorities around the world and by minority I am refering to Central, South and East Europe as well as Asia, the Middle East and Africa. Whom ever invented that word race should burn in hell
My race is homosapien.
Humans, or human beings, are bipedal primates belonging to the mammalian species Homo sapiens (Latin: "wise man" or "knowing man") under the family Hominidae (the great apes). Humans have a highly developed brain capable of abstract reasoning, language, and introspection. This mental capability, combined with an erect body carriage that frees their upper limbs for manipulating objects, has allowed humans to make far greater use of tools than any other species. Humans originated in Africa, but now inhabit every continent, with a total population of over 6.5 billion as of 2007.

sex/race probably won't matter as much to the terrorists than the response they think they can extract from the president
i would vote for a seasoned fighter with just the right dash of unpredictablity than an all around good guy like Rudy. We need a old warrior with little patience for diplomacy to deal with the situation. I don't think any of the 3 you've referred to fit the bill.

A woman yes, but black no. I am a republican and think that Hillary is too untrustworthy and Obama too inexperienced for the job anyways.

My dilemma is who I would like the GOP to nominate. I guess right now its either Rudy or Mitt Romney. They both have their baggage though.
