This is a common problem caused by the new Interent Explorer seven, and seems to happen more on slightly older models of pc's.
More information can be found in the help topics of http://www.microsoft.com.

My advise is to remove IE 7 and redownload it by:

↓ Control Panel
↓ Add/Remove Programmes
↓ Remove Internet Explorer 7
↓ The add on will be removed and revert back to Internet 6
↓Go to: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/defa...
↓ Use the links on the left to Download

The Internet browser will never fully go, version 7 will dissapper and be replaced with version 6. Use version 6 to download version 7 again.

This should resolve the issue.

I'm only guessing but you may be clicking on the red X up in the corner. try RIGHT clicking down on the bottom and choosing close.
