I have a Sony VAIO PCV-RS410 and I know that the limit is only 1GB. If there is a way can you delete the limit that it is set to?

Nope. That's usually a limit to the motherboard. You can alwasy check with Sony directly to be certain.

There are only so many slots for memory cards on your motherboard. Once you've filled them up with the biggest modules that will fit, you're done.
Windows supports (and uses) virtual memory, which means that it swaps pages of memory off to your hard drive, but obviously, it's a lot slower than having more RAM.

I don't think that the limit is 1GB. They do sell one gigabyte sticks of ram for PC2100. All you need to do is buy 2 1GB pc2100 sticks of Ram and you have above the limit.

If the limit is 1 GB then that is the max that the motherboadr will recognise. I don't think the additional ram will even be "seen".

It all depends on two things:
1.The processor type (256Mb for P2, 512 for P3, Unlimited for P4)
2.The number of ram slots u have on ur motherboard.
if u have 4 slots the u can have a max. of 4GB

There absolutely is. And, NO, you cannot change it. If your computer specification is 1Gb, that's it. You are stuck with a maximum of 1GB
