How do they do that, do they tell you? I mean most people put theirs on private, I would think they would have trouble getting around that without you knowing.

Actually, even colleges are beginning to check student's personal websites like myspace, or facebook for example. Like the employer from earlier, they too want to get a better picture of the applicant. Especially with undergrad-student admissions advisers, there're very little things you can post publicly that can get by them anymore. So CLEAN UP YOUR MYSPACES and FACEBOOKS; make sure that if someone were to go to your personal websites, you don't have compromising pictures or links/photos on them!

Yes, they definitely can look at your MySpace. If it's set to private, I don't think they'll be able to see anything but your name and default picture, so that wouldn't be a big deal, but if it's out there for everybody to see or if they have reason to believe there are... interesting... things on it and find a way to view that, they can.

Big schools with thousands of applicants probably won't have time to look through everybody's, but if you're on the bubble or if you have a history of getting into trouble and they know that, nothing is stopping them.

Most colleges get thousands of applicants. I wouldn't think they would have the *time* to search through MySpace. And personally, I don't think they *should* - what a kid puts on MySpace is his/her own business, and not that of a prospective college.

that's not something to do with what proportion pals you have, that's greater to do with the style you spend it sluggish. in case you assert you like taking ketamine and E's and getting stoned, they might take that into attention... there replace into an editorial interior the dad or mum approximately how somebody have been given refused a job after the flair corporation stumbled on their MySpace, and that i've got heard fairly some colleges do verify.

That's not true. Colleges are not interested in you enough to consider looking at your myspace. Maybe if you provided your myspace url and suggested they visit, they might. But probably not. Trust me, they barely even read your application. All they're interested in is your grades, your test scores and your extracurricular activities. They don't care how many people are in your friend space or what bands you like.

I would. As an employer, if I know a candidate had a myspace or yahoo 360 page, I'd investigate, of course. Keeping out the losers is so difficult, you need all the tools you can get.

There are many colleges who are asking you to supply your myspace link in their application - not all colleges are doing that, but it does happen.

Good Luck!!!
