Pessimistic and defeatist attitude will not solve any problems. Believing that something cannot be undone is the path to our destruction and, ultimately, our own end. By taking drastic measures, finding and utilizing an alternative means of energy, we can slow down, reduce or reverse global warming, but it must be a concerted effort by those who are causing the most harm, and eventually those others contributing a smaller share.
We're ALLOWING the avarice of a few super rich and powerful companies to take us to the edge of destruction by accepting a pessimistic and defeatist attitude. We're giving up before even attempting to do what HAS to be done to ensure our survival... that seems simply STUPID, and that is putting it mildly.
Just because something hasn't been done before does NOT mean it cannot be done in the future... but it will NEVER be done unless we TRY, and repeating the same mistake will not give us a different result!
It's very simple: let the scientific community, those who are most knowledgeable and experienced and have studied the problems and causes for decades, show us how it can be reversed or stopped... not politicians with hidden agendas (avarice). Would you let a manicurist perform a heart operation on you? Would you let a baker defend you in a murder trial? Who would YOU let educate your children, a successful, popular rock musician or a qualified, experienced and licensed educator? Our very existing is at stake here and some people believe that greedy super rich and powerful companies know more than our best in the scientific community... what's wrong with this picture?

The fact is no one person or politician can do anything at all about Global Warming. However, our President can choose whether to make the United States part of the solution or part of the problem.
What we should be doing is joining international organizations (like the IPCC) that use peer-reviewed scientific journals as the basis to suggest global policies that will soften Global Warming's impact upon humanity. Warming is a global problem, and there must be a global solution.

its the latter. And they say that it's warmer than "average" how in the hell do they know what "average" is? we've only been recording temperatures for a couple hundred years compared to the billions the planet has been around. That is a tiny scratch on the surface. True we can do ice core samples to get clues to climates past, but even that only goes thousands back (still a mere scratch into the Earth's history.) how do we KNOW what "normal" is? the answer is that we dont. So NOT knowing what "normal" is, how in God's name can we KNOW that we are "warmer than normal" and therefore, exists a problem? Should't the presidential candidates be more focused on things that we DO know are problems? Immigration, Iraq, social security, etc instead of wasting their time and agendas on issues that MIGHT be a problem hundreds of years from now (or might not be a problem at all but might just be a natural warming and cooling of the earth's atmosphere)
One more thing: Inconvenient Truth is a waste of your time. watch it if you must, or if you want to have a good argument for ONE side of the issue, but there is just as much evidence on the other side that liberals DONT want you to know about.

Global warming is a real threat to our planet, the governments don't want to acknowledge this due to many of their own investments. Anyone who believes that this is natural or fake is sadly mistaken and buying into their lies. There is not one scientist that has read the info on global warming and denied it's threat. There is no way to get rid of this problem in the society we live in but there are many ways we can slow it down. I highly suggest you watch the film "inconvenient truth" it pretty much says it all.
Do your part and don't just sit on your butt, this is all our responsibility to change.

What makes you think that the junior senator fron New York should stop global warming by herself? If she were maybe to become president then maybe she can pass tougher environmental laws and enforce them. Obviously she can't do it alone, but unlike our current president, she is wise enogh to understand that she is not the expert on global warming, it does exist, and something should be done about it.

Well, according to Rush Limbaugh and every feminist I know, Hilary is the smartest woman in the world so she should be able to figure out how to do it. If SHE can't then I guess we'll have to ask the smartest MAN in the world.

Global warming is a natural occurrence, that being said, I wonder if maybe we are not enhancing it by our polluting ways and if we at least tried to cut down our use of fossil fuels if we could not at least minimize its consequences.

It can't be stopped, but politicians can slow it down by stopping talking. The less hot air they produce, the better this planet will be.

I'm just going to say that at least you can prove it scientifically as opposed to God speaking to somebody which it can't be proved. Who's the nut case?
