It's the physical control that gets them off. If he can physically restrain you and make you do what he wants, that's the point. There's also mind control. My ex husband used to use that on me: "you'll never get anywhere without me...you can't get a job cuz no one will hire you;" etc. For men it's all about control. Controling your mind, controlling your body. Sex (rape) is a way to control. The penis becomes a weapon, not something of sexual desire.

Because subjecting someone else to forced sexual intercourse is the apex of control, domination and humiliation. It is taking an act that is usually about pleasure, affection and/or procreation and using it as a weapon. That dichotomy between the intention of sex and the use of it in a rape is what creates the domination/control and brutalization factor. Hitting someone just inflicts damage and shows that the perpetrator is stronger. Raping them forces them to submit to prolonged domination and an assault in the most physically personal way possible. It is much more of a personal violation than simply hitting them,

Sex is the METHOD OF CHOICE and usually a learned choice. Rape is about many things--hatred, fear of real relationships, culturally accepted "macho" thing, power and with that control, etc. All expressed in a violent physical form. There is also "emotional rape" w/abusive language, withholding, etc. Those who are violent in their bhr have learned that from their own family, culture or are unable/unwilling to control their own impulses. Others who can control their physical impulses, use language and other forms of control, such as restricting the woman's freedom, friends, access to their own children, etc. Culturally, men are "supposed" to be dominant over women. They use whatever method they have seen and learned in order to accomplish that.

They are sick individuals that get a sense of power and control over women by raping them. Rape is a vicious, brutal way to overpower a woman and control her emotions by terrifying her into submission.
