Well, the dull answer is that something's gone beyond the comedy frontier, where someone's ability to laugh at themself has evaporated because they're so...whatever.
But I reckon the next time someone says it to you, you could have some fun. Slapstick being of course one of the older and more twistedly inexplicable forms of humour, if someone says "I'm so tired it's not even funny", why not try slapping them across the face. Check out the stunned reaction, and if it makes you smile, do it again, till you burst out laughing. Then you can tell them that whatever their subjective assessment might be, they're still funny.
Hell, it might not win you many friends, but at least it's an excuse to slap people...which appears ALWAYS to be funny.

I really do not know myself. If I am tired I just say goodnight. If I have a headache I am in pain and really do not say much at all. But I have heard people use this saying I think it maybe a habit. Or that is their best way to describe a serious issue. Really I do not know and hell its not even funny! LOL Also how about people who say you know what Im saying after every sentence! OH I CANNOT STAND IT! I want to say no I dont know what your saying! Because I am too stupid! Know what Im saying???

I don't think they meant it to be funny. If I say that I'm usually on my way back home or upset because things went wrong unexpectedly. Why would that be funny ??
