I had breast cancer in March 1995. It wasnt found early. The cancer was invasive in the breast, and had spread to my lymph glands.
I had chemotherapy and radiotheapy at the Christie Hospital in Manchester.
I had the other breast removed in 1999, as a precaution but didnt have cancer in the breast.
It will be 12 years on 2nd March this year since my operation.
I took Tamomifen for 5 years, I am now on Arimidex.
I feel absolutly fine.
I also feel exceeding lucky.
Having cancer is not the end of the world( although I thought at the time that it was).
I know many people who have also survived this awful disease, so never give up hope.

An aunt had breast cancer and was free of the disease for at least 15 years. She died from natural causes not cancer. You must remember that woman can live full and happy lives after treatment.

It might help you more if you asked a Macmillan Nurse (if you are in the UK), they are so much more informed and can allay any fears you may have, whether the patient is yourself or someone else.

I wish you all the best.

My mum had a small lump discovered during a routine mammogram. Luckily they discovered it early enough to be able to remove it and she'd s been fine since although they do monitor her with regular mammograms to check its not coming back.

All older women should have their routine mammograms done as they could save your life! It saved my mum's!!!
