Climate control is another feature brought to you by your on-board computer system. Back in the years b.c. ( before computers) Your temp control was a slider that went from blue(cold) to red (hot). You would estimate how much heat or coolness you wanted and slid the control to where ever on the selector. After that, you would be adjusting it every ten minutes or so, never getting the perfect temp. in the car. Now, the computer measures the cabin temp as you set the temp you want in degrees. The computer then controls the amount of hot and cold air entering the cabin and maintains that temp at all times.

RE:
What's the difference between Climate Control and the regular temperature dials?
You hear so much about climate control in cars these days, but some people don't have a clue what it means. I had to drive my brother out to a Mercury dealership because his Cougar stalled down, so I drove him to the nearest Mercury dealership, and while he was in the service yard, I parked my car...

I know what Climate Control is. It is actually when the little elf is awakened by the knob you turn, pulls up his sleeve, and checks the temperature according to the skin on his arm to see if it is to his liking. And then he has the power to change the interior temperature of the automobile. It's a proven fact.

Climate control means you set the temperature you want the passenger compartment to be, or in the case of "dual climate control" what you want YOUR side to be, and it maintains that. If it's cold outside, it will turn on your heater. If it's hot outside, it will turn on your A/C. if it can get by with neither it will open a vent and let in warm (or cool) outside air to get it where you want it. But you just set it and forget it.

My car has climate control - it maintains the interior of my car at my favorite temp of 76 all the time. Of course I can select another temperature if I choose. If it needs heat the heater comes on -- if it is too hot the ac comes on. Also if the humidity gets to high inside (foggy windows) the AC blends with the heater to remove the excess moisture.
