I don't think that I go out of my way to show my kids that I love them, they already know it. I've always been there for them, and mostly been their friend. We can talk, goof around and do things together without any sort of weird feelings by them. I don't spoil them, but they don't do without. They know the value of things wanted and gained. And know the difference too. I'm 47, and young at heart, we have fun together, but they are encouraged to find their own way too. And know that I am there for guidance any time they feel they need it. Parenthood is not an easy feat to accomplish. It's something that you HAVE to do know matter how you feel about it. And with life altering side effects too. I would say that rocket-science is probably easier to grasp. There have been tough times, times when discipline was necessary, but I know that they have learned from these experiences. I trust my kids. They know that whatever they can think up, I've been there and done that before them, so they know that just to be honest is the best thing to do. I don't really know what sort of answer you're looking for here. There is no "ANSWER" to this question. Every person and every family is different. You just have to find what works for you and yours. Best of Luck to you!

I'm not a parent, I'm a child but I want to answer this question too, in a different way.

Generally, my parents don't show their love to me. Also they damage me with cigarettes. They buy everything to their friends' children but when I want somethnig, they don't have any money!
I'm really bored from this..But they are my parents..

Well after we unlock their bedroom doors and allow them 5 minutes of day light, we allow them to sit at the kitchen table and have their only meal for the day and then we beat them until they can't stand up and then we wash them with the garden hose out back in 30 degree weather, then we lock them back in their rooms again.

I think we show them that we loved them the day we took them from their abusive biological mother five years ago!
