My boyfriend and I just sent a package to a marine friend of ours in Iraq. He asked for magazines like Maxim & Stuff magazine. We sent sunflower seeds, beef jerky, I baked brownies and cookies and put them in an air tight container. He dips so we sent some Copenhagen. Pictures and letters are good too. Just stuff that reminds him of home and what he can look forward to when he gets home. Hope this helps...

Send headline news; anything that is from your circle of friends, 1.) ie: cards, letters, wedding/birth/death/graduation announcements.
2.) Letters of any sort are a welcome piece of "MAIL CALL!!" You are laughed at if no one sends you mail; of any kind.
3.) Cut out comic strips and stupid on line cartoons; these were my sanity in BCT (Basic Combat Training) Anything to keep them smiling.
4.) Is he/she religious/spiritual? Send familiar quotes of duty, grace and love.
5.) BE A FRIEND!! Just write. Any and all contact with the "real world" is more precious than you can imagine.
