It is still tradition for the interviewer to ask you about what you are expecting for rate of pay. The exact figure is not stated until the actual job offer is made.

The best way to bring it up is to ask what the pay range is for the people under you that you will be supervising. If you will not be supervising anyone it is OK to ask about he pay range (not exact pay) when you are asked if you have any questions.

Pay is usually brought up fairly early, they want to make sure they can not only afford you, but that you see yourself as a valuable asset.

It was NEVER taboo to ask about pay at an interview.

I imagine that if you fail to ask what amount of money you'll be making, they might think something is wrong with you.

You have a valuable service to give to an employer. You deserve to know what you'll be making because you might be able to make more somewhere else.

Good Luck.

It depends on the employer, but I believe it's okay to do.
During the segment of the interview when the employer asks do you have any questions, that would be an appropriate time to inquire about the salary. What I reccomend is that you ask a general question first like, "Is there a lot of room for growth and advancement in this company?" then ask, "What is the salary range for this position?"
By asking a general question first, you won't appear to be only intersted in the pay.
Good luck to you.

No you should ask. I proper way of asking the question is to ask the salary range for the position you are applying for.
