Probably because it's the worlds most powerful country. And we're very proud of our kind of 'democracy'.

Alot of Governments come to the U.S. for money and aid which makes they business ours. I believe that when you are indebted to someone that you kind of have an obligation to them for what you do with those things they have given you. Most of the Countries are invested in our economy and have a stake in our being around even when they publicly say that they hate us they really are just giving you lip service and they position in the world would be greatly reduced if we were not there, "what is the double standard these people have in most cases (but not all)? Why are you not asking that?" Many of these same Governments want stability in their Countries and believe that the United States can provide that for them. I know that some of you reading this might say that the people of these Countries don't feel that way but that is the point. The United States is doing things for, paying millions too and and helping Governments that were elected or excepted by the people there, "Why are you not asking why the bulk of these nations are inviting them as well as their money in?" These Governments are benefiting from our Dollars, our imports and our exports, so if you don't like what is going on with your Countries policy on America then maybe you should look in the mirror & at home before you start worring about what America is doing (as if all Americans are of the same mind set.)

America is what it is because the world has elevated it to that position and encouraged it's policing by remaining docile. Governments and policies are made by people with the same make up (and faults) as you and me. Not superior beings! Look in our homes, schools, societies and work places. Now think in broader terms and you have a country governed by the same principles applied first in our homes, then schools, then community and finally established in our workplace. Power corrupts! More often than not most people will take the arm when offered a hand. Pointing and accusing is hardly the solution and will not override our individual failure to act when we know we should have.

Because in the history of world political affairs America has always been the defender of liberty which is what most Americans treasure and fight to defend. If not for America the world would have long ago been dominated by Communist, Facist and rouge dictatorships. Our people and their love of freedom are what allow this country the strength to make sacrifices for the betterment of human civilization.

America has a duty to stop injustice in the world.

So are you the type who probably wouldn't stop to help a woman being raped in an alley or a child being kidnapped? How bout that kid being picked on by the bully in school?

Should we let innocent people continue to be slaughtered? She we be self-absorbed and NOT worry about the real, evil around us? Should we turn a bilnd eye to the fact the slave trade is higher now than in the 1800's and that little 1000's or little girls as sold as sex objects daily?

I guess in your ideal world the answers would be YES, YES, YES, YES, YES.

Watch the movie "Amazing Grace" coming to theaters on Feb. 23. Then tell me we shouldn't get involved! Please use your brain on this one and STOP drinkin' the KOOL-AID!

America is the most powerful of the Western World, and you will find is backed by the rest of the western world to keep all extremists in check.
As much as we westerners bit.ch about each other, when push comes to shove we stand united, and i know what side i want to be on.

Who else has the guts to take on evil and squash it? No one, thats who. The UN is a corrupt joke, so we tend to try and keep things in some kind of order.
It seems like when we decide to do something our allies are usually there with us. That says a lot, because that means we arent the only nation that participates in these actions.
Just keep that in mind next time your tunnel vision only lets you see the US as the sole player.

That is a very good question and I have wondered about this myself. It must have something to do with big business? Greed? I dont know.
US has a population of peoples from many different countries which still have an interest in their homeland. Heck.....I just dont know.
