During my tour in Iraq I was in a Brigade TOC and we had cable news running 24x7. This gave me the opportunity to compare what the various media was saying with 'ground truth.'

After comparing this I concluded that Fox news was providing the most accurate assessment of events in Iraq. CNN was providing the least accurate.

And it is no secret that the troops feel that the news media is misleading the American people about the progress of the war.

I think you are confusing the opinion shows with news shows. Fox News is often the first to break stories that are not show the Democrat party in a good light. The other outlets eventually cover the stories (but not all of them) because the stories are forced out into the public eye by Fox. Many stories wouldn't ever had made it to the air were it not for Fox. People who watch both Fox and the mainstream media, at least intelligent people, can make up their own minds after reviewing all the data. Sadly, most people in the US only get their news from one side, the liberal media. They don't even know what they don't know. You are right about Hannity and O'Reilly at times. It's the same with the mainstream media. So often you see a reporter on NBC, CBS or ABC ask a question that really isn't even a question, but instead it's the reporter spouting his ideas or attempting to bash the interviewee. Edit: You are right that Fox News does not attempt to hide their opinion. And there is the difference. The other outlets do attempt to hide their bias - and that's why they are so dangerous.

I think Fox news is pro right wing conservatism. It leans to the Republicans. It is very unbalanced and unfair.
There is a lot more bad things happening than good in this War in Iraq. Fox does dwell on all the negatives, when it comes to any Democrats.
Fox News is mostly opinionated reporting.
Everyone has an opinion.
Report the facts.
All the news channels run every story into the ground.
Sick of this.
And for anyone that wants to blame people for not liking the job the President is doing. Don't get it. His performance speaks for itself. Remember Time tells all truths eventually.

I've finally seen the light. For so long I rejected the idea that Fox News was not fair and balanced. After watching some of the other cable news channels, I can now admit Fox is more favorable to issues of the right. I still prefer that to the other options.

good statement! yes, fox news is real, and most of time they do good job with reports! some people in this world are so negative that they look forward to the blood and guts stories some stations put out! in iraq, for example no one knows about all the good! that is going on with the rebuilding of schools, bridges and other utilities that ameriacan troops have done! really! the news stations always report the carnage, but not the progress!

I do not and cannot believe Fox news. I think O'Reilly is a frigin' joke and all the rest of their so called "reporters" are a bunch of lying idiots.

No, Fox News is not a legitimate news channel. They are strongly slanted to the right. They follow along the lines of Right Wing talk radio style. They downplay any news that they find puts the Republicans in a bad light yet attack Democrats every chance they get. Oh, and they make up news to back up their opinions. This has been well documented.

You have to watch CNN and FOX then take the things you heard on both channels and it is probably true. Through the spin and opinions out.

Of course. Just ask the people who work at Fox that came from other media outlets like CNN. Where the news is concerned, Fox is much more fair and balanced than the rest of the crowd.

Maybe. But I think they prefer to have their opinions spoon-fed to them so they don't have to think. Fox will offer both sides of the issue (with both a dem and rep debating) and I get to decide what to think for myself. I kinda prefer it that way.
