Perfect Practice makes perfect
Its just a common strength training exercise performed in a prone position, i.e. while lying horizontal and face down, raising and lowering the body using the arms. They develop the pectoral muscles and triceps, with ancillary benefits to the deltoids and midsection as a whole. Press ups are a basic exercise used in civilian athletic training or physical education and, especially, in military physical training.

I am 16 and I can do 65 push ups, but when I started, I could only do like 2 -5, i was dedicated to doing push ups like every hour or somthing, then the week after i could do 10, as i kept rising, now I currently can do 65, If I try harder i might do 70, I think I will do it now to see...
just add about 5 to your total every week or 2 weeks and you should see results, but its no easy task, work hard my friend....

Do the 20 pushups twice a day. Each week try to add 5 extra to each session. By the end of 6-8 weeks you should be doing 60.

wow i find that very surprising that you can only do 20, but...
try this..
lift weights that are atleast you body weight(ex. if you weigh 200 lbs. you should be able to lift more than 200)
then increase pushups every day (today do two sets of 20 pushups..with a 2 minute break in between
then tomorrow do two sets of 25 pushups with a 2 minute break in between
every day increase the number of pushups and sets
GOOD LUCK!!!

20 ain't bad dude. Lots of pple your age and older can't do 10. The main thing is to keep doing them. Increasing the number of push-ups you can do is like increasing your reading speed. The more you do it, the better you become. So, move from 20 to 23 to 26 to 30 to 32 to 36 to 40.....and so on!!

since 20 is your limit as of the moment... try doing it everyday for 2 weeks... then gradually adding 10 more every 2 days after that until you can reach your target... dont forget to do stretchings first before doing any push ups...

Don't listen to them all. Weight lifting builds your strength for lifting something big one time. What you need is to built stamina. Id suggest getting a two handed bar for weights without any weights. Just lift that in different ways while you watch television.

it's all in your head - if you weren't counting you won't know how many you really could do. so try having someone else count for you but silently so you don't know and then concentrate on just doing as many as you can with a nice even pace. you'll be doubling you numbers quickly! go for it!
