The fans and coaches did their job with Anthony, but Stern dropped the ball on that one.
As for Kobe, the fans blew that vote, and if they didn't, the coaches would've made him a bench player, which would've been just as bad for the All-Star Game.
The only way the West can get worse is if AI doesn't play and Deron Williams is named as his replacement.

Melo is on the All-star team now becasue commisioner Stern replaced him for either Yao or Boozer. I think he didn't get voted in because the western starters are really good and deserving to start. The west is really deep too. I think he should've been named a reserve the first time through though... but it all works out at the end

well...they announced yesterday that he is in the all star game. he and josh howard both got in to replace yao and boozer. so...he was snubbed a bit, and I think it was mostly due to the fight. If he had missed 15 games due to injury, then i doubt he would have been snubbed like that. Stern has let the players and fans know that he wants a new image. like it or not, that's what the boss is saying, so the players really shouldn't be surprised.

Did people forget team USA already? He was clearly the best player on the team. They clearly have'nt forgot the drug dealer video or the punch.
