Ok I am a little over 5 weeks pregnant. I found out and immediately called my health insurance since it wasnt great coverage and found out what they cover for maturnity. Well lets just say geisinger induvidual plans suck for maturnity. So I dropped that and am now covered on my hubbys Blue Cross Blue Sheild Plan and they cover 100%. I have been covered since Feb 1st. Now my hubby was just offered a wonderful job makin 75,000 plus a year! Just wondering what happens with the whole health ins stuff. Will I be covered if he takes this new job?The new company is very well know corp. all over the USA and it is Blue Cross ins also since one of our good freinds offered him the position he told us this. But how does the whole switching insurances go?Just concerned since i have all of these dr appts coming up and wondering will they be covered if he takes this job in the next month or so?

Yes we will be taking the new insurance through his company, since the corp is so large he will be working for it will be cheaper than his other corp which was a small business corp. I called blue cross blue sheild and so far they said if the corp has a group plan we are covered if its induvidual we are not.

I'm pretty sure that the switch takes place immediately, but when it would kick in at the new job would be the thing. I also know that there's some kind of Blue Cross thing that they put you in unless you expressly specify you don't want it (not sending the papers back isn't an option!) in between insurances. They have a $500 deductible, though, for everything. Maybe your husband can talk to the new job and let them know the situation and since they've already offered him the job they must really want him so maybe they'd make an exception because of your pregnancy as to when insurance would kick in. Congrats on both of the great news!

The only way to know for sure is to get the contact information from the company that wants to hire your husband and call to pose the question. The company will definately understand - believe me, a lot of people ask this question. Unfortunately, pregnancy is often considered a "pre existing condition" and therefore many plans will not cover it. You may have to continue paying to keep your old plan until after the baby is born. Which would suck for a while, but would be worth it in the end.

damaging you! You and your son are far greater effective off faraway from an abusive significant different/father. i think that the probabilities of his getting even joint custody are very slender using his behaviour and the fact that he will probable be deployted returned in some unspecified time sooner or later. merely because of the fact is a sergeant would not make him a a million/2 good father. i urge you to get some criminal advice: in many countries you would be entitled to a million/2 of any sources, etc., besides as alimoney and baby maintenance. Your possibilities of his being an sufficient father on your toddlers additionally are slender, I anticipate. i'm hoping your mum and dad are supportive. good success!

I think pregnancy is considered pre-exsisting in most insurances. what I have seen in these cases is the mother will have to go on goverment insurance and then the baby will be covered under the new insurance...

Will he be insured through his next company? If he is, then you just switch to the new insurance (make sure you notify the insurance company)

I think you'll be covered as long as you back-pay the premiums to the time you conceived. At least that was the provision in my insurance.

If it is a group plan that you will be switching to then they should cover you. But if your switching to a private plan then you may have issues and have to pay alot of money.
