I want to alternate wasting time with doing something constructive-play on the computer-do some laundry-watch tv-do some dishes-take a nap-play with my kids

If I wanted to waste time (which I don't) I wouldn't get drunk. I've put on a big pot of chili, I'm doing some minor housecleaning and then I'm looking forward to three of my grandsons coming to spend the night. That is NEVER a waste of time!

do something constructive at home, go to the office a few hours than go get smashed. It is a busy day I deserve it.

Saturday is the "Clean bathroom" day, so I'll do it and get off computer,, let friend use it for 2 hours, then I'm back here. No more drinking for me though, done enough of that to last.
