there's a bucketload of work being done on the Tasmanian Tiger at the moment by Universities in Tasmania and South Australia. They're pretty sure the hard yards are done...now it's a matter of time to see if what they've worked out is viable. They have a good resource in that there are a couple of very well preserved foetal specimens in the Uni in Hobart...

Thylacoleo was declared extinct in 1986 - because "extinction" is scientifically determined as "not seen in the wild for 50 years or more", hence the late date....

Mind you, if you ask Taswegians (people from Tasmania) if the Tiger is extinct, most will say "NO!" There's been a lot of unconfirmed sightings in the past 50 years, but there is still an unclaimed reward of $2million lying waiting down there in the Apple Isle....

I think it will be some less complex than a mammoth. Maybe a replica of an anthropod which was stuck in amber or some prehistoric bacteria.

none because dna gets broken and has missing parts so they will use other dna combined with the remaining dna to make a hybred or close facsimully of the origenal they will need a male and female of these to cross breed and recover original dna chains.

I think the Tasmanian Tiger. The last one died in the zoo 70 years ago. They plan to use its DNA to clone it.
