There are several Republican candidates, especially Guiliani and Romney, so you should be thinking about them too.
And I don't know who would be the best Democratic candidate. I don't like any if them.

Obama is the best candidate on the Democratic side. He represents a new thinking and not part of the old Clinton and Carter guard. All the other candidates have too much baggage.
He has the added benefit of being the only candidate that isn't turning on his own decision about the Iraq war. He had it right from the beginning.
"But I also know that Saddam poses no imminent and direct threat to the United States, or to his neighbors, that the Iraqi economy is in shambles, that the Iraqi military a fraction of its former strength, and that in concert with the international community he can be contained until, in the way of all petty dictators, he falls away into the dustbin of history.
I know that even a successful war against Iraq will require a US occupation of undetermined length, at undetermined cost, with undetermined consequences. I know that an invasion of Iraq without a clear rationale and without strong international support will only fan the flames of the middle east, and encourage the worst, rather than best, impulses of the Arab world, and strengthen the recruitment arm of al-Qaeda."

I think Hillary would be the best candidate, she has the experience and political savvy to win in November 2008. She is a strong, very intelligent woman and capable of combating the repuglican hate machine led by Rush Limbaugh. She will have my vote if she makes it through the primaries, I think Edwards has a lot to offer the country, and then Obama, if he can prove to me that he will stand up for himself when the hate machine bears down on him my mind is subject to change.

Don't call me a liberal if I vote for a democrat. It's totally prejudicial and makes me feel insulted that I may dissagree with Bush's dictatorial ideas.
I have voted many Republicans in my day. But also many Democrats. To be totally one way or the other would send our nation into a tailspin. Fini

Clinton is your best bet, she is conservative and use to work for Barry Goldwater and she loves to vote for corporations. But you will have to evolve enough to except a woman can keep you just as safe as a man from terrorist.
