This is fun and easy and pretty!:

I went to Michaels, or A.C. Moore(any craft store) and bought the blank cards and envelopes...the larger size...(cheap)
I also bought a bunch of sheets of velum paper... frosty clear or textured clear..and some ribbon that matched my color theme..

I cut the cards in half and printed (in a nice font) the invitations on the velum with my computer..
I cut out the words on velum to fit on the half-card so that it was about 1/2 inch smaller on all sides than the card.
The half card I painted with different colors...in this case they were bright summery colors in streaks..I did it with acrylic for texture....but you could use any paint..

Then I used a special whole punch that was shaped in a rectangle and punched two holes through the velum on the half card and fished ribbon through it to tie them together...
it turned out so cool!

hope that helps! (you could do a picture as a background on the half card or different designs as well)
