I install the dvd writer now but how to go to bios to dectect the dvd writer in window xp?

First, the XP should automatically detect the drive. Go to START, RUN, the click BROWSE, then MY COMPUTER, then a list of drives will come up. Yours should be listed.

Any more problems and let me know. Send me computer name and brand, and the name of drive you put in. Possible you did not set up switch in back right, cuz if not then your computer will NEVER detect the drive you put in.

If you installed it properly, it should be recognised automagically.

HOWEVER, to get into bios, watch the splash screen at startup. You'll see a message somewhere like:

F2 to enter Setup
F12 to restore

or some similiar options; each computer is different.

Hit the key that's for setup or bios and make sure its detecting the drive.... It should be set to Auto.

Danger Will Robinson! Don't change anything you're not sure of. You can really mess up the computer.

If it doesn't recognise the drive, check the jumpers and cables.
