A lot of people think that atheists are less trustworthy because they lack a moral compass, and that a persident should be a person of faith. On the other hand even though they are people of faith, many people distrust Muslims. I wouldn't have a problem voting for either as long as they were the most qualified.

Thanks for you answers.
To clarify, I wasn't asking so much who you would vote for, rather I was asking who you thought society was more willing to accept as POTUS.

relies upon on who they're up against and while the election happens. right this moment i think of an atheist would have a greater efficient threat than a Muslim or a gay. optimistically the voters is clever sufficient to be sure previous labels like this to the values the guy holds. Wait, Bush basically have been given in two times so nevermind...

Good question, I think people are misinterpreting your question. You are not saying atheists are less moral, you are saying they don't have a religious set of rules or commandments that they live by. I agree that an atheist would be voted in before a muslim, only because of the global situation right now.

an Atheist would stand a better chance. A person can have morals without the belief in God. A Muslim is too tied to their religion.

I think the athiest would have a better chance against a muslim. They are a terrorist religion and very backwards. They would also have to get on their knees more than Bill Clinton.

I'll trust an atheist any day. They don't have their loyalties hitched to some overseerer in the sky, whose demands are more ludicrous than an operatic prima donna seconds before curtain call. (And for the record, that goes for Christians, as well.)
