Love. Cats. Art. Music. Sunlight. Moonlight. Stars. Trees. Mountains. Water. Sleep. Days off relaxing. Scrabble. Laughter. Movies. Inside jokes. Friends. Family. Falling in love. Writing. Reading something that touches your heart. Cookie dough. Greek food. Europe. Travel. Photography. Swans. Animals.

Taking a deep breath. Feeling lucky to be alive. Lucky to be sitting in front of a computer right now typing, having a conversation of sorts with strangers. Connecting with the world. Realizing that we are all connected in this strange & beautiful world. Yourself. Loving yourself & others & life.

Of course there are bad things in life. There are tragedies, disappointments. There is ugliness, stress, despair. There is drudgery. There are moments when you want to give up. Times when you get angry & you hate everything. But never let the ugliness prevent you from seeing the beauty that still exists.

Open your heart. There is goodness in there. Let it out & see the goodness that is all around you.

Take care. Don't lose hope.

:)

You can find nothing good? A mother nursing her baby? A toddler's laugh? A butterfly? A kiss from your sweetheart? A starry night? A summer breeze under the palms by the shore of a lagoon? A warm sunny day after several cold ones? Generosity? Justice? Music? Art?
You need to lighten up a little!

Things are neither good nor bad. This concept is expanded nicely in the book, "I and Thou" by Martin Bueber. His thesis is then expanded, and he points out that good and bad are moral judgements, and for the most part, as we think about our lives, reflect on our relationship with God. He points out that we come into right relationship with God when we are in right relationship with those around us. Further, we cannot be in right relationship with others, until we find right relationship with ourselves. Put another way, inner peace and contentment puts us in a position where we can relate with others, and through right relationships with our fellow man, find God. When we relate to the world around us looking for good in "things", we begin to use others as if they, too, are nothing but utilitarian things. Unfortunately, focus on "things" leads us away from relationships, promotes rivalry, jealousy, and greed. The result for an individual is sad. Look, for example to the myth of King Midas. Hope you can relate to this. If not, read the book. Bueber says it a lot better than I do...

That's a rather broad question. There is good to be found in a lot of things, a thunderstorm, a sunny day, the ocean, the quiet of meditation, books and simply existing. The list could go on forever.

If you are miserable with life in general, then I am afraid no-one can help you. Lots of good things. A new born child, warm summer, fragrant breeze, french fries made with real potatoes, a kiss from someone you love(like). Cant you find anything?? Poor you!!!

Shakespeare said, "Nothing is good or bad; only thinking makes it so". So it's all in the mind. If you think it's bad, it's bad; if you think it's good, it's good.
