According to a recent Newsweek magazine article is something very serious. All scientists agree it's happening. The only thing is how much is caused by human activity.

Based on what I have read it is a serious problem but most of the people that are saying it is all man made are just spewing rhetoric & propaganda...why live in fear and why not check all the facts instead of just those that support you opinion on the subject? Just one exsample; there is a thousand reasons to convert to alternitive fuels that have nothing to do with Global warming, so lets use commen sense when looking at the issues instead of hype. I don't want to distory the plant but I also don't want to live in a cave and wear plant matter while freezing because I can't burn wood to stay warm. All these people complainning about fuel use and jetting around the world burning more per day than I use in a year but still telling me I am a bad person. I am an Equipment Operator and I spend every day making our standard of living better, I don't care what fuel source I use just as long as I can support my family! Just my opinion on this one.

It's a good thing that everything that is said on the Oprah Winfrey show can be taken as absolute truth! Whew! And here I thought I was going to have to start thinking for myself. That's a minor relief.
But serriously, I live in Ohio, and have to walk to the WONDERFUL (insert sarcastic tone here) campus of Bowling Green State University everyday. Now if you would like to tell me where global warming has gone for the winter, I would love to know, because as worried as I am about the polar ice caps and all, I would love to walk in 50 degree weather to class everyday as opposed to this -20 degree crap we've had last week.
National Geographic had a great program on about a month ago about how the earth is going through a "cool down stage" and how we may be looking at another Ice Age in another 100 or so years. So which is it "scientific experts"? Are we getting too hot in here, or is it all freezing?
Fact of the matter is, it is currently 16 degrees with a 11MPH WNW wind blowing, making it feel like 3 degrees in Bowling Green, Ohio. I will put on my Carhart coat, a pair of Thinsulate glove, and my orange Cleveland Browns stocking cap, walk out of the door, and still be cold. Should this change tomorrow, and BG suffers through a balmy 20 degree day, with a 5 MPH wind making it feel like 10 degrees, then I will still wear my stocking cap and carhart coat, but maybe I'll set aside the Thinsulate gloves.
Don't worry about all this global warming stuff, or global cooling stuff, which ever side you choose to take. I mean, heck, if Darwin has his say in it, if we're really bent on survival, we'll grow wings or something and find a way to survive (again, sarcastic tone would be appreciated if inserted here).
So global warming, I punch you in the face for not coming to Bowling Green, Ohio. And Oprah...yeah...we'll let that one go.

It is a really big deal. I watched this episode of Oprah and they had some earth specialist on there. They showed a projection of what would happen if things keep up and one example was New York losing a bunch of land. The water level will rise and swallow what ever is from the coast to where the two towers once stood. The ice bergs are melting and big chunks are falling away. This is what is changing the water level. This is just one example. I'm sure there are many more that are just as serious if not more.
