I have glanced around in and online at Wal-Mart, Target, and Baby's R Us. I'm curious which store(s) that people liked the best for baby registry. Which had the best selection, and good prices. Any other stores that I didn't list?

Also is it easier or harder to register at more than one store?

Is it true that it is "rude" to put clothing on the registry? One of my friends said she heard that, since it is nice for your friends and family to pick the clothing. If that is true and you don't have clothing on your list, how are they going to know that you need it? (they might think you bought it all already)

Can you tell this is my first time?

Oh also......

When should you have a baby shower? I heard around 6-8 months.

Congratulations on the baby. I like Target because they have good quality and pretty good prices. Also, there's one just about everywhere. I think it's all right to register at two stores, but no more than that. Registering is also very tiring, so take your time. No, it is not rude to put clothing on the registry. You can put whatever you want on it. If you see a really cute outfit you would like, go ahead. If you get it, great, if not, maybe it gives other people ideas of the kinds of clothes you're looking for. Also, I'd plan a shower around 8 months. Good luck!

I am registered at Walmart and Target. There are things I like about both of them but most of the stuff is online only, so people have to order it. Which is not bad for me because I did not have a shower due to everyone being so far away.

I found that Walmart has some of the same things thatTarget has, but cheaper. Maybe only by a couple dollars, but that adds up when you have to pay shipping and handling and taxes. I put onsies and sleep and plays on my registry and people have been sending all kinds of different clothes.

It's not rude to put anything on there. It is your registry and your baby and you know what you want. I have had people send me some things that are not on my registry (mostly because I already have them) But I just take that stuff back so I don't have doubles.

The good things about Walmart is they have a Thank You tracker, that keeps up with everyone who bought off of your registry and Target has user reveiws, and trust me I like feedback on things I want and I read some reviews on a couple products I was registered for and did some research and changed my mind.

Babies R Us is over priced I think, but they have some good stuff. I set up a registry with them but never put anything on it because I don't want people to think I need that expensive of stuff when I dont.
Registering at more than one store will give you a better variety and when one has something the other doesn't have it is sooo much easier.
Congrats and Good Luck.

Most people I know register at Wal-Mart as they are everywhere and not everyone will shop on-line. They have a good selection and very reasonable prices. You can register at more than 1 shop if you wish, just be sure to keep both registries up to date if you have the same item on the lists at both stores. Also, something to consider when deciding where to register is the return policy (even with registries there is the possibility of duplicates). I have never heard it is rude to put clothing on the registry. The only kind of clothing I put on my registries was general stuff, not specific outfits.

I registered at Babies R Us. I did most of it online, then added a few smaller things in the store because they were not available on the website. They have a much better variety of things than WalMart or Target.

The only problem with BRU is that there is not always one nearby. We don't have one near us, and some of my family also lives where there isn't one. I found that people either order stuff online, or find something similar to what I registered for at a store that is convenient to them. When that happens, I just go onto my registry and mark the item as received, even if it's not identical.

I have never heard of it being rude to register for clothes. The only clothing I registered for is onesies and sleepers. People like to pick out baby clothes, it's fun, so I left the rest up to them. If I don't like it I'll return it - our family lives 400 miles away, they never have to know!

I loved Babies R Us and Target for baby stuff. The Wal-Mart clothes that I received do not wash well, and Target prices are comparable. There will probably be a place on the registry where you can type something in: "We need gender neutral sleepers in sizes 3-6 and 6-9 months." I wrote something like that in my registry. If you plan on having more children, consider a stroller like the Joovy caboose at Babies R Us or Sit N Stand at Target. It has room for two kids, but is as small as some single strollers. Don't worry about it--newborn babies need very little. Just a car seat, diapers, blankets and a sling. Good luck!

I registered at Wal-Mart and Target. I prefer Target though. Better selection. I did it on line and then went to the store and added more. Target prices are a little higher but quality is better. You can put whatever you want on your registry. Whatever the price if you want it or need it then add it. You may and may not get it. But if it is on there then there is a chance, if not then you know you will not get it. They will get what they want to get you anyway. I am 32 weeks and have not had a baby shower yet. My husbands side is planning one the end of this month. So I will be at the end of 8 months. My side is having me one after I have the baby. You can have a shower whenever. Congrats and good luck.

I think that with a child that much older, people would certainly understand! And, you're not forcing anyone to buy you anything, it's just a way to let folks know what you need if they want to buy for you. You really don't even have to tell anyone unless they ask - I would do it and then when people ask about gifts, you can let them know where you are registered. Plus, some people (I know I do this...) will automatically look to see if you are registered at the popular spots (Target, Babies R Us) when they want to get you a gift. I say go for it .... also, to comment on another answer about being careful with registry....we put a PO Box address on our registry to keep folks from being able to find out where we (and new baby) live - most registries make you put an address and they say they keep others from seeing it, but just to be on the safe side, not a bad idea to do a PO Box or other address if you have one.

I registered at Walmart and Babies R Us. Walmart just because their are alot of them around and where some of my family lives that is about the ONLY thing around. Babies R Us because they have a very wide selection of baby stuff. I love that store. Although, it can be a little more pricey. I think it's fun to register, so I don't think it's hard. I put clothes on my registry. I don't think anyone had any kind of problem with it. Good luck.

I did wal-mart because it was the most affordable and knew it was the place most of my family and friends would prefer to go shopping for baby stuff. I do not believe its rude to ask for certain clothes but it may be hard for people to find the exact items you want. Since this is your first baby I can promise you people know you need clothes and you will get plenty. As for registering at more than one store you can register at as many as you want if you want to give people a variety of places to choose from just try not to double up on items at each store cause then you will end up with the same thing more than once. Congratulations and good luck! =)

I had my baby shower about 6 weeks before my baby was born. I registered at Babies R Us because they had the best selection, but not always the best prices. A lot of people saw what I wanted then if it was less expensive somewhere else, they bought it there.

I registered for some clothes, but people are going to buy you what they want anyway for the most part.

Oh, and don't bother with Baby Depot. It's the worst, most unprofessional store EVER.
