Just use the pattern "negative, positive, negative, ... " whenever you see the minus, or negative, sign. You have three minus signs, so you would say "negative 34, positive 34, negative 34." The answer is negative 34 (-34).
Think of the minus sign as meaning "the opposite of". So, starting from the inside, you could also say, "The opposite of 34 is negative 34. The opposite of that is 34 (also known as positive 34). And the opposite of that is negative 34."

-(-(-34) is -34 times -1 which gives us +34. Then +34 has to be multiplied by-1. The final answer is -34.

just remember that a negative times a negative is a positive and a positive times a negative is negative. try working from the inside out. (-(-34) in this the negatives multiply and cancel each other out making it a positive 34 but the negative on the outside of all of this multiples and makes it a -34.

I just always take it step by step...
-1x-34 = 34 (2 negatives = a positive)
one negative left so...
-1 x 34 = -34

The minuses cancel each other out. If the equation would be -(-(-(-(-435255), the answer would be -435255.
