No, because my Council are not recycling anything taken from my home like plastic or glass. All this goes ito the same wheelie bin. Only plain card, garden waste and paper are collected in the Wigan area - unlike in the Aylesbury area where there is so much more and better service. Come on Wigan - get organised and help to recycle the things that matter.

I did at first, but it does help to reduce the amount of garbage going into landfills so why wouldn't any caring person try and do their part to help mininize the damage that is being done to our enviroment.Furthermore, it is not all that difficult or time consumning to recycle, in fact I get a feeling of satisfaction that at least I'm doing all that I can do as an individual to reduce the waste that is going on in our society today. We live in a "disposable" society today. We buy products and dispose of our waste as though there is no consequence for our actions. That is where we err, for we as a society in general are seeing the far reaching effects of our waste over this last 40 yrs.The Earth is groaning from the side effects of our deadly toxins that we have dumped into the earth, skies, and oceans around the world. The antidote for these poisons are now far beyond our reach, and getting farther away from us all the time.Sorry, for the lecture, but we have "overslept" in this regard and still continue to hit the "snooze" button instead of waking up and doing something about it.

No. If you get organised you separate the different things as you dispense with them. Our council charges for the extra blue bags if you go over your limit for recycling so it makes me think they are non to keen on doing it either as the black rubbish sacks are freely available. Our recycling stuff gets shipped off to China where the Chinese sort it and use it in some manner. I don't know whether the council pay them or they pay the council and I would like to know this

Yes! I spend 20 minutes a day sorting through stuff and washing it all out, i dread to think what impact it has on my water bill. There is no incentive to recycle, and even though we are doing half of the councils job by sorting it, our council tax still goes up.

Re-cycling could not be a bother to anyone but the most dense and selfish. It is only an unnatural process because human kind have made it necessary. Before we came along re-cycling was not necessary. Nature did all the work. Everywhere from the depths of the oceans to the tops of the highest mountains natural re-cycling is still taking place today.

No. When I was 18, I had long hair in a beehive-style, I was living in windy Leeds and probably used enough hair-spray to destroy the ozone layer all by myself.
Now I recycle everything I can, in the vain hope of redressing the balance.

Yes, it's a pain in the a**e as the previous person said. Why not dig a huge hole in the Sahara, at a point where there is no watertable, and use it for landfill for the next 100 years?

We've been doing it here for 100 years with no problems.
