I do not have kids nor am I able to have them, but I have a few transgender friends and gay friends, that are having or have had trouble with getting to see there children.

Reading a few homophobes question here,
I see many people think we as GLBTI people are unfit to parent children

If there is any one that is going though this or have gone though it and have gotten to see there children or won over all against the other parent or family members

Or are in a relationship with a person that has children and some how has had issues with the child’s other parent

i am asking this as there is a lot happening to my friend and her child and i do not want to be a reason for the father to use against me

Sure I'd fight to get them back! I'm straight, but it doesn't matter if you're not. If someone can love a child and raise it, then I don't see a problem with it. Instead of taking children away from a gay couple they SHOULD be out there saving kids from abusive, neglective parents. Some people are just too closed minded, however. Well.. other than that, I wish you lots of luck.

You know throughout evolution there has been childbirth and there have always been two parents with equal rights to the child.

Any reasons that the Courts or Court of public opinions come up with are all opinions.

Saying that LGBT parents cannot raise a child is Ludicrous.

Let's make a list then.

Divorced parents

A parent who has cheated on their spouse

A parent who has at one time been accused or convicted of inappropriately touching a minor

A Parent who has been in prison

A Parent who has been convicted of a felony

A Parent who has gone through drug treatment

Etc. Etc.

It's Ludicrous of anyone to suggest that LGBT Parents are unfit. Please tell me how they base the "FIT" part when looking at heterosexual Parents? Is there a quiz? Is there a contract between the Court's and the Parents where that the heterosexual Parent's agree to Parenting terms regulated by the law? NO there isn't!

The reason there isn't is because THE CHILD is half yours and you have the right to have the child half the time if not full time. It's high time we stop hanging our heads low as though we have something to be ashamed about. It's not our children being harmed by us. It's our children being harmed by society and their prejudice's!

GL!

After 10 years of marriage and two kids, my ex decided to switch teams. At first she had the kids, but I quickly got them back from her, as she wasn't a good parent. She was more interested in exploring her new life choice.

She was a horrible person, refusing to support the kids because "anything she did to help the kids would benefit me", and she was damned if she would do anything that would assist us.

Being gay does not mean that the gay couple are going to be the best parents in the world.

And for the kids, children need the dynamics that both parents provide. Kids are shortchanged by just providing them just one half of life's balance.

i imagine I comprehend what you're declaring. i'm a lesbian, through the way. in order that that you spot the position i'm coming from. dissimilar people in the LGBT community easily ask themselves similar questions each and each and every of the time. i assume you're not any further declaring that telling people we are gay is the problem, that is the large delight gala's and parades and on your face suggestions-set it is. And, in a fashion, I consider you. huge gala's would properly be dissimilar relaxing, and they are tremendous in that persons that're gay or questioning their sexuality can see that the gay community IS there, IS energetic, and they are known. many people are desperately in search of friendship and love and popularity in the gay community, and considering we are no longer a visual minority, we experience we ought to make it glaring we are gay with rainbow clothing, flags and bumper stickers. it is a communication piece and a fashion to fulfill people. the particular sexuality and vibrancy of gay delight activities hurts us as a lot because it helps us. It does no longer help eliminate different stereotypes that we come upon. no longer all gay adult men have sex 5 situations an afternoon, take heed to Madonna and placed on sequined day-glo pants, yet through going to a delight parade you'll particular as hell imagine they did, does no longer you? we want to be out so as that it will connect with one yet another, so as that it will BELONG. yet from time to time we do ourselves a disservice. Homosexuals were repressed for thus long, that now that we may be able to freely grow to be conscious of ourselves, we prefer to scream it to the international and have a good time it, i assume. i'm hoping my rambling helped you slightly. I do comprehend the position you're coming from, and do see why you do not comprehend why we do dissimilar issues we do. i don't think of even we completely comprehend it.

Sorry I am not and I have not been in that situation, I am sorry your friend and her child is having to go thru this..

If it was me, you better bet your sweet as* I would fight for my child.

I have a friend that did go thru this with her first ex husband.. He was going to use her being gay against her to take custody of her 2 boys. Her attorney even told her that it might be used against her depending on the judge. But luckly the courts ruled in her favor. The judge told her ex that before he brought her back to court again to fight for custody, that he better have more then him saying she is unfit because of her sexuality. that before he wasted this judges time again that he better have some proof that she is unfit and for him not to use her sexuality as being unfit. She was going out of her mind worrying about losing her 2 boys. She even broke up with her ex gf to keep her boys. She didnt not date period afraid that it would be used against her. But luckly even tho her ex took her to court she was smart enough to turn the tables on him and take the visitation rights he had of getting them on weekends taken away to where he could only spend a couple of hrs a day with the boys at HER pleasure. And it was only on weekends. Instead of him having any proof she was unfit, she had sh8tloads of proof of him mistreating the boys.

I wish all the luck in the world for your friend and her child.

Good luck to you.I am straight, but I am not against lesbians or gay men, as my son is gay.i just wanted to wish you luck. And I don;t think people should be judged by there sexual preference,as this has nothing to do with raising a child. A man and woman would not have sex in front of there child as would a girl, girl, guy, guy so whats up with this idea that you can't be a good parent.I just can;t stand ignorance on any level. My prayers are with you.

I'm a mom, and I am certain there is no parent alive (at least parents in their right mind) who would not fight to the death for their children.

Get a good lawyer. Good luck.
