It would only be racist if it was called White history month.
The last part of your question in kind of bigoted though.

No and YES and YES YES YES!!!
It is insulting to every other American whose ancestors are immigrants. Why don't we have Polish month or Irish month I ask you?!
I was sick during the Super Bowl when they kept making the issue of BLACK COACHES a focus and we had to have so many Black History month commercials. It is VERY dividing. I am not a racist but the people who insist an separation (a la BHM) ARE!
I want to make an issue of the following:
1. 10% of the population is black so ONLY 10% of athletes can be too ot there is something wrong with our society.
2. Why do blacks make up over 35% of the prison population if the are only 10% of the country. What is wrong with society?
3. Why could a black man walk alone down my street but I can't walk alone in the inner city? What would I get mugged and not him. What did I DO WRONG?
4. Why are all the blacks in New Orleans who did not have jobs BEFORE Katrina STILL not have jobs and are killing and stealing where ever they are t living now? How can America be blamed for that - cuz you KNOW it's not their fault!

A month ? I wasn't aware that there were 'months' in America, only 'days'. (I moved here a year ago). What makes a concept warrant an entire month ?
By the way, you appear to be a racist bigot. Did you know that ?
Incidentally, black is not a race, it is a colour. Black people are from many different races, as are whites and yellows and any other colour. To lump all the black races under one history is conceptually flawed anyway.

More white people are on Welfare. If Black History Month gives them a warm fuzzy feeling inside what's the harm?
I wonder though if they were asked Who were Branch Rickey and Walter O'Malley if any of them could give an answer!
For any who don't know, Branch Rickey was the General Manager of the Brooklyn Dodgers, Walter O'Malley was the owner. Without the help of these two white guys Jackie Robinson wouldn't even be a footnote in Black History Month.

Ok. You are probably American and don't even know your own country. So, let me break it down for you like a fraction.
1) Most people in jail are not black. It's just that in proportion to their population, a lot of black folks are in jail. It's a big, bad, terrible problem. I am not denying that at all.
2) Who is on welfare the most? Caucasian pple. And it makes sense because they are the majority in the population.
3) Black History Month: Yes, I agree it sounds extreme. But it is really a problem with America. The great things that black pple do are not highlighted and neither are they widely taught in schools. Why? That's tragic. Black pple and all Americans need to know that Blacks have contributed to the progress of America. It is important for self inspiration. So, why is it a big deal to teach black history in schools?
That hypocrisy is that makes it necessary to have a season for black pple to learn about themselves/ Many do not cause they are in jail - I agree to that - but for those young men. women, boys and girls that are law abiding Americans, they deserve to celebrate their heritage. And if they are not given space in mainstream society to do so, then just use the month of Feb since it is kinda short.

February is just an appeasment tactic to hopefully re-direct blacks from whinning, to showcasing blacks in history that are slightly less worse human beings than the ones alive today. We all know it is stupid and crazy to PRETEND blacks aren't a liability in the world.
We know black history month is an unfunny joke forced upon our population to pretend reality is different from what it is.
February should be called what it is: Horse-blinder Month Concerning Black Crime

Is not right. We don't need a month of anything and if we are going to separte our achievement in races then why don't we have a white history month? Let's truly treat races with equality.

Yes, most people don't know the real history of this country. They know the slanted history taught in public schools, like Columbus discovered America!!!

Everybody has a month, many the same month.
Oh abortion "Babies are killed"! Fetuses are not babies!!
Get over it!
The overwhelming majority on "welfare" ( we aren't going to include the corporations with no bid contracts) are the elderly, the disabled and children. The majority are WHITE!
No wonder this country is so screwed up, they have to read bald face lies as what you represent as fact, is not!

I don't know that it ever was necessary to have a black history month. We don't have enough months of the year to honor all the races and nationalities who live here.
You should have stopped after the first question. No need for the rest of it.
