Do celebrities receive monetary compensation for appearing on late night talk shows like The Tonight Show and Late Show with David Letterman? What about non-celebrities who appear on those shows?

What about those who appear on daytime talk shows like The Today Show, Regis and Kelly, and Oprah? Do celebrities and non-celebrities get paid for appearing on those shows?

Everyone gets paid for making any appearance. If they didn't,. they would be firing their managers. That is how celebrities make money. They get flown to the city where it's at, put up in hotels, and given the "star" treatment. These shows make millions of dollars; do you think their sources aren't going to get paid?! Of course they are. When they are promoting new shows or movies they are getting paid for every appearance they make. Some celebrities, I've heard get paid $200,000/appearance. I guess it would depend how big you are. Even regular joe-blows get paid for their appearance. I wish I knew how much, but I don't think that is public knowledge. I would suspect not as much as a celebrity, however, the individual would be paid handsomely for their time.

Guests On The Talk Today

some shows will not pay guests to try to claim they are truthful, but when a person gets free lodging, meals, publicity, transportation etc. you can see how anyone, especially low income, would be tempted to just make something up for a chance to be on a talkshow. Only chance they may have for travel and a vacation. The shows ratings are based on their entertainment value, so guests are encouraged to be as shocking as they can. I'm not sure on celebreties. It would be good public relations, and beneficial for them to appear regardless of pay.

no they don't, celebrities do it for exposure for there movies, t.v. shows etc. and everyday people get airfare and hotel stay for the show,i remember a few years ago , amy fisher was on oprah and oprrah said she had invited joey buttafucco to come on as well and he said he'd do it for $50,000 and oprah said, "i've never paid a guest to come on the show and i'm not going to start now!!"

Yes they get paid and costs for getting to the show are covered aswell as hotel rooms and drinks/food etc. Otherwise they wouldnt be on the shows, if you want a big star on your show you will have to pay them.

Depends

No, they get to be seen on TV and that's enough. Celebrities need exposure so they will go on shows that they like. They receive requests to be on tons of shows and then they get to pick and choose which ones to be on, if they are famous enough. They are pampered while there so I'm sure that's a great bonus too.

I don't think they do much of anything without being payed, especially if they are in the Actor's Equity Association or something.

Reading the book instead of watching the movie is the ultimate way to see what the writer designed. Reading uses your imagination, hones your reading skills, and can better your vocabulary
