I don't know if this can be tied in or not.
Is the majority always right? If you had a majority who wanted to lynch someone who would be right ? The majority that raised their voices high or the minority that sat back and said very little or nothing.

The majority once thought that the world was flat and was the center of the universe. The majority once thought that man could not fly.The majority once thought that tomatoes were poisonous. The majority probably still thinks that Henry Ford with invented the automobile, the Civil War was about slavery, and that U.S. Grant was Lincoln's first choice to command the Union Army. Conclusion: No, the majority is not always right!

In conclusion, the idea that the "majority is always right" fails to take into account the quality of the individuals constituting the majority. As the clarity of perception of a majority group is obscured, such as it is with religious and political fanatics, majority rule becomes little more than a tool to retain a mediocre if not downright harmful status quo. In such a situation, "majority rules" is more akin to the primitive idea that "might makes right". The majority may have more arms and legs to enforce a given precept; however, the collective power to enforce has little to do with whether this precept is right or wrong or even healthy; see Jim Jones.

You did not give some details about your essay so I guess the conclusion might go like this..........
1. So, is the majority always right or is the minority sometimes right?
2. Having mentioned all that, could the minority be sometimes right too?
3. Perhaps, after all, we need to think about the minority who could be right all along.

Hope that helps..... :)
