What's the rule for wearing jean jackets with jeans?

Question

Do they have to match and do they have to be the same color? Or should you never wear denim with denim?

I am at a loss about this.

Let's see. This is somewhat of a complicated question because sometimes mixing jean colors can look really tacky. If you're wearing really dark bottoms and have a light jean jacket that is semi-ok. If you have all light on then it's ok..it gives you that vintage look...even if they are dark sometimes they can be compatible. the best thing is to ask a friend for their color theory. What's really hip right now is the full matching jean outfit.

really u shud never wear denim with denim but i think that u shud never wear more than 2 items of denim and they cant be the same colour but that dusnt mean colour wise i mean that the jeans must b lighter than the jacket and this will only work with baggy or flared jeans, not skinnies

Don't do it, mismatched colur always looks awful and same colour looks just as bad. go for a nice jacket instead of denim to wear with jeans

you never, ever pair a jean jacket with blue jeans. U wear it with colored jeans.
