It is very arrogant to say that the temperature is being controlled by man. Has anyone heard of the ice age? Now we are warming us. It's happened before.

NO ONE likes pollution and we SHOULD control that. But stop trying to scare everyone. Let's be sensible.

These are the SAME people who had us hiding in bunkers because of Y2K. It's 7 years later and they need a new doomsday message to feed on I guess.

I am convinced the global warming (as caused by man) crowd is made up of people with an axe to grind against the USA. These are "socially conscious" people who hate the fact that this is the greatest nation on Earth. They have a guilty conscience that so many live in poverty while we live in affluence. Therefore this country must suffer. By destroying our economy (which will surely happen if we enact the Kyoto Treaty) we will then be on a par with the poorer countries. Everything will be equal, the misery will be shared by all. This will ease their consciences and make there existence meaningful.
Man-made global warming is the greatest hoax perpetrated on the masses since Ponzi's scheme.

So you were hiding in a bunker on Y2K? Hmm, you strike me one who reacts to emotion rather than fact. The emotion of a President who still tells us Saddam caused 9/11 even though ( yesterday ) again the evidence is there that the Dept of Defense and the CIA lied about WMD. You are also forgetting that science has shown the human affects of our industrialization. Now you don't have to believe that science. But science got you your birth control pills and "other things" you use because you are a woman ( hysterectomy and other things we don't need to talk about here), tested the paint you put on your face, the stuff used to do heart surgeries, brain surgeries, eye surgery so you don't have to wear glasses - and you trusted that science so all those things could make your life better. Why do you not trust science when they report all the crap humans have done to wreck the environment? Okay, so forget it. Keep on driving your 9 mpg SUV, using your aerosol sprays on your hair everyday, and the styrofoam cups for your morning latte. Let your kids worry about the environment Oh by the way, did you attend any science classes in school or did you simply just get married at 18 instead of going to college? Do you think your kids attendance in science class then is just a waste of time? Have you taken any science classes other than middle school biology? The people that know the least about science are always the first ones to criticize, usually on their way to church to worship something they have never met, had coffe with, a conversation with, etc. . . .

The reason why the Y2K computer bug did not cause worldwide chaos is that people recognised the threat in good time and then worked very hard to eliminate it.

It's a shame that global warming has become such a political issue with the US right that thehey will not contemplate the same approach.

As always you have no clue at all. You and Rush both think you know more about Global warming then 2000 professionals. The science is there you just don't except it as truth. Now send me $250,000 or so and I will sell you some swamp land on the Florida coast line. If you know more than the 2000 professionals who say it will flood if we don't reduce Green House gasses. According to you It should be worth twice that in 100 years. BTW, we all know you can afford this "risk free" investment. What we don't know is. Are you willing to put your own money where the "words" are.

True... even more so in the last few decades. In the 1970s we were headed into an Ice Age... now there is fear that the Polar Ice Caps are melting. That kind of climate swing used to take 10s of thousands to millions of years. Now it happens within the lifespan of a young person. I wouldn't be surprised that we don't head back into another Ice Age by 2025 or so....

You really have to do some research. No one says global warming is caused by pollution. Almost all climatologists agree we are accelerating global warming at an alarming rate. You should watch the award winning documentary " An Inconvenient Truth" and get your head out of the sand. Do you still think there were WMD's in Iraq too?

And Climatologists are not the same scientists who claimed Y2K was a problem. Those were Computer Scientists.

.Honestly, I doubt you have ever read any reports about Global warming. Who are we to deny it ? We just have to change our habits and stop living like pigs, that's all. Denying wont help. Global warming is nothing new here in Europe , neither do we deny the greenhouse effect or the Ozone hole.I think it is just ignorant to deny it and make jokes about ( a polar bear with the sign I'm "doing fine" ) Besides, the same kind of people denied the fact that the earth is not a flat ;-)

Sen. James Inhofe

Thus far no one has seriously demonstrated any scientific proof that increased global temperatures would lead to the catastrophes predicted by alarmists. In fact, it appears that just the opposite is true: that increases in global temperatures may have a beneficial effect on how we live our lives. For these reasons I would like to discuss an important body of scientific research that refutes the anthropogenic theory of catastrophic global warming. I believe this research offers compelling proof that human activities have little impact on climate. This research, well documented in the scientific literature, directly challenges the environmental worldview of the media, so they typically don’t receive proper attention and discussion. Certain members of the media would rather level personal attacks on scientists who question "accepted" global warming theories than engage on the science. I believe it is extremely important for the future of this country that the facts and the science get a fair hearing. Without proper knowledge and understanding, alarmists will scare the country into enacting its ultimate goal: making energy suppression, in the form of harmful mandatory restrictions on carbon dioxide and other greenhouse emissions, the official policy of the United States. Such a policy would induce serious economic harm, especially for low-income and minority populations. Energy suppression, as official government and non-partisan private analyses have amply confirmed, means higher prices for food, medical care, and electricity, as well as massive job losses and drastic reductions in gross domestic product, all the while providing virtually no environmental benefit. In other words: a raw deal for the American people and a crisis for the poor.

you definitely bring up some good points...but isn't it also arrogant to think that you can say definitively that man is NOT causing the earth to get warmer?
