If the two people concerned are consenting adults then age is as it is 'a number'. Although, you have to be aware that age gaps does involve more understanding that the younger one if marginal age difference will be going through emotions that you have long gone through (and the elder will hopefully understand) also the older person will be a calming influence on the younger and together it will bring on a bond that others should respect. On saying the previous, I only thing age difference could be accepted if both partners are over twenty three years of age. As then both parties have had time to 'experience life' so to speak.

What does god have to say??? I don't believe he says anything about age being wrong and the difference being wrong! My great grandparents were 13 years apart. Stayed married and had my grandmother. My boyfriend is almost 8 years older then me! I have never seen age to be a big deal unless It was like over line, say a 40 year old dating a 15 year old and so on: That's just sick! So as long as you love them for them and everything. There's no problem as long as you are over the age of 18!

From personal experience, I do not thing two people with more than 15 years between them should marry. Why should the younger person be coming into their prime and their partner is getting old. Now if both are older to begin with, then that's a different scenario. Should a teen marry a person over age 30, NOOOOOOOO.

OF COURSE AGE MATTERS! Show me a marriage that lasts where the wife was 19 and the husband was 43. Age itself might not have as much to do with it as maturity, but the two go hand in hand. So if you want to celebrate your 50th wedding anniversary together someday, I suggest you find somebody closer to your own age, who shares your values, and who you can build a long and solid future with. Otherwise what's the point of getting married? Despite the growing trend, marriage isn't supposed to be a 3-5 year thing. It's supposed to be a LIFELONG commitment.

If you're already to the point where you're getting married, I wouldn't think so!
If someone is younger than you still want to get into a marriage with you, it means that they do want you, you and everything you are.
I would imagine the opposite is true.
So just keep being yourself.
Now it doesn't mean to let go of yourself; but just not to obsess over the age gap, it could well spoil everything for both of you.xx

Up to a point age should not matter, however, one has to draw the line at a mature adult having a relationship with a teenager or similar situation. I have had relationships with older, younger and same age men and found that it was respect, appreciation, compassion, etc., that made the difference.

If it's a big age gap my gut reaction is that it's revolting, disgusting, wrong.
But on the other hand, is happiness so common that we can afford to reject it when it comes our way? So no, if two people love each other and want to be together, they should make the most of every day and good luck to them.

Now my husband is 16 years older than me and it's great. If you love someone it doesn't matter as long as the youngest partner is a mature adult and not a teenager who has been taken advantage of by the older partner!

Nope it shouldn't matter my husband and i are 16 years apart and his parents are 14 years apart. Age is just a number unless your like 18 and your lover is 50 then that is just gross and nasty.
