Yes a Brahmin girl can take a dalit as her husband. There is no law against it. But it does not happen normally because society is still very backward.

No problem for Brahmins if the Dalit boy is rich and popular.
For eg A Brahmin girl (Savitha) married Ambedkar (a dalit).

However the other way is very rare ie Brahmin boy marrying a Dalit girl, even if she is rich.

There are several factors involved in this decision.
1. It is not very common to see such a situation. If this was asked 30 years ago, it would have been next to impossible.
2. Talking about current state of things - if economic conditions of both girl and boy is good and they like each other this is possible.
3. The country is general is seeing a lot of inter caste and inter state marriages due to migration to cities.

yes according to indian laws there is nothing stopping a brahmin girl from having a dalit husband....

That being said in most indian cities where the caste is no longer practiced and important lot of intercaste and inter religion marriages do take place....... in smaller towns and villages to some extend due to the opening of socity and acceptance of one-another caste is losing its importance.

Really depends on the open-ness of their families...

Varies from family to family...

I know a good few friends who are, for example :

* Sikh woman marrying a Hindu man

* Muslim woman marrying a Sikh man

* Hindu woman marrying a Catholic

* Brahmin Hindu woman marrying a Rajput Hindu man

Cheers.
