I've watched him on NYPD Blue, and on CSI: Miami, and all he does is stand around and pose wearing his sunglasses and suits with no ties for most of the show. He's not handsome enough to just be on a show posing with his hands in his pockets without having better acting credentials.
I guess I sound like a hater but I just don't know why he has success, but if you're a woman, you have to be drop-dead gorgeous to be successful.

David Caruso is the William Shatner of this generation. I cant stand either of them and i have no clue as to how either of them ever got on TV in the first place. WTH ?

I'm a woman in my 20s who is generally so not attracted to red-haired men, but there is something about Horatio Caine/David Caruso that I am really drawn to that I cannot explain myself. I dunno what it is about him that I like, but I do.
CSI Miami is my fav CSI. I watch the original CSI, although I could take it or leave it. I watched about 3 eps of CSI NY when it first started and it bored me to tears. I couldn't stand it - even though I liked Melina Kanakaredes from "Providence".

I personally think he is incredibly sexy and I'm 24. He cocks his head to the side because he has an illness or something where he can't look directly at someone he has to look up at them or turn his head sideways. It's not his fault. He does an excellent job on the show and that is just the way his character is supposed to be. He's the boss on the show, all he needs to do is pose.

I can't stand him. I'm a huge fan of the CSI franchise and if all that's on is CSI-Miami, I'll tune in, but its like nails on a chalkboard.
Plus, what the hell is up with the fact that he will pick a catch phrase and repeat it a million times an episode? One episode he kept saying "Book him" over and over, and another episode, he kept calling all the suspects "my friend." GRRRRRRRRRRRR It can't be thwriters that suck so bad, because CSI's NY and LV always have great dialogue.

My husband used to like him on NYPD blue until I pointed out that on CSI he always "cockes" his head to one side. Now we can't watch him without laughing.

David Caruso is not cool, nor can he act. My husband and I watch the show and mock him the whole time. Don't ask me how he gets acting jobs, let alone on hit shows.

Don't feel bad....he really DOES suck as as actor.
Watch the movie KISS OF DEATH. It shows Caruso as a perfect example of high quality sucking
