Easiest solution... If you can get into the BIOS again, just go to load defaults and save.

If you cannot get into the bios, then you can use the jumper on the motherboard to clear the BIOS.

If you cannot find that jumper, just unplug the power supply and then take out the little silver battery that looks like a coin. Then you wait for 30 seconds or so. Put the battery back in, plug the computer in and that will reset the Bios for you.

If you turn it off & unplug, then remove the case/panel you'll see a small circular battery a bit like a coin on the motherboard. Remove this for a couple of minutes & reinstall it. Hopefully, this will reinstate your BIOS to its default settings.

Next, take your friend down a dark alley for some re-education.

if it's any help the jumper you need to reset the bios is near the motherboard battery on most computers but as philip t said it's better to know exactly which motherboard you have. DO NOT LET NOOBS MESS WITH BIOS SETTINGS a warning to all.

least perplexing answer... in case you will get into the BIOS back, purely bypass to load defaults and shop. in case you will by no potential be waiting to get into the bios, then you definately can use the jumper on the motherboard to sparkling the BIOS. in case you will by no potential be waiting to locate that jumper, purely unplug the potential grant and then take out the little silver battery that feels like a coin. then you definately watch for 30 seconds or so. placed the battery back in, plug the computing device in and which will reset the Bios for you.

If your monitor wont turn on, then how are you ever going to change the settings for you cant see what changes you have made to the system, time to buy a new computer and charge it to your friends account since he was the one who messed it up for you. never let anybody near you PC unless they really know what they are doing.

I'm asuming you can't get back into the bios ?? well you will need to reset the jumper on your motherboard . I could try and help but unless i know the exact motherboard i can't as each one is different .. will check back later ! removing the battery doesn't always reset the bios but it';s worth a try

I hope it wasn't a failed attempt to upgrade the BIOS .... if so you can say goodbye to your motherboard.

No need to suspect that is indeed the case ... for now.

Please be more specific & tell us exactly what message you get when turning on the PC ( if any).

FIRST....smack him in the head and tell him to take to a computer shop to get the Bios configured correctly and have the explain to him .....Rookies no touch Bios!!!! The bios is easy to reconfigure but just as easy to screw up if you don't know what you are doing. i could tell you what to do but....you shouldn't even be editing anything in there, unless you know what you are doing.
