The war in Iraq

2007-02-10 03:17:18 · answer #1 · answered by Militant Agnostic 6 · 5 0

I think there are several key issues.

Most likely, the most prominent will be the War in Iraq and the War on Terror. I think neither party will have any advantage politically on this, judging by the current opinions.

But this will probably tie into the overall policies of how to confront rogue states and proliferation, too. After all, there is still North Korea, Iran, Syria, Russia, Venezuela, China, etc who have not been playing nice, and have been fomenting unreast and conflict and have been proliferating dangerous weapons.

Domestically, it will be nationalized healthcare and the economy and taxes and deficits. These will be very strong issues, and I don't think the Democrats stand to gain on these, as high taxes are not a political winner, and nationalized healtcare would make Bush seem like a piker when it comes to deficits.

Global warming and illegal immigration won't be front burner issues, IMO.

Hopefully it will be more than one issue. Voters need to stop being a bunch of uneducated monkeys that only care about one issue and that be the determining factor in the choice. If all issues are weighed evenly on a voters scale they would most likely find they aren't even Republican or Democrat. I guess its just a testament to how narrow minded our education system and people are.

How to keep racism from being really obvious, and the failed war.
The fact that clueless George says he will have the deficit paid back by 2012 should be causing some comment by then too.

Clearly the biggest issues will be:

1) the size of Nancy Pelosi's plane
2) the school that Obama attended at age 9
3) whatever other lies and smears the GOP invents and the media propagates

WHY WOULD THIS ELECTION BE ANY DIFFERENT THAN THE OTHERS?
